WHAT IS EPAT?
Extracorporeal Pulse Activation Technology (EPAT), also known as Shockwave therapy, is a cutting-edge non-invasive treatment that uses acoustic pressure waves to heal musculoskeletal pain. EPAT enhances the body's regenerative potential in areas affected by poor blood flow, tissue injury, overuse, or weakness. By delivering targeted acoustic pressure waves, it stimulates metabolism, accelerates the healing process, and improves blood circulation. This increased blood flow helps to reduce pain, improve mobility, and restore function, enabling your body’s natural regenerative abilities to help you move freely once again.
WHAT CAN BE TREATED?
-
Back & Neck Pain

Foot & Heel Pain
-
Achilles Pain/Injuries
-
Acute & Chronic Tendon Injuries
-
Trigger Points
-
Neuromas
-
Muscle Strains
-

Treatment Duration and Frequency
Treatment sessions take approximately 5-10 minutes depending on the disorder to be treated. Generally, at 3-4 treatment sessions are necessary at weekly intervals, with some acute cases requiring 2 treatments a week for 3-4 weeks.
โ
EPAT is not covered by insurance but can be paid for with most HSA and FSA accounts. The cost of the Shockwave is $190 per treatment.
Looking for some evidence? PubMed has thousands of studies on shockwave therapy, but here is a link to some more specific studies on shockwave therapy for the treatment of soft tissue injuries and chronic conditions.
